The Halosperm Test determines the health of the DNA in sperm. Smoking, alcohol, heat, some chemicals and other factors can damage the DNA in cells including sperm cells.

The Halosperm Test allows us to assess any DNA damage in sperm. The test is performed in conjunction with a routine semen analysis and provides additional information as to the quality of the sperm.

Getting Started

Step 1 – Referral
To access treatment at Repromed you will require a referral from your GP or specialist. You need a current referral to access Medicare rebates.

Step 2 – Initial Contact
Our Fertility Nurses are available free of charge to answer any initial questions you may have before making an appointment with a Fertility Doctor. If you are unsure whether you would like to make an appointment yet, our nurses are available for a free information session, you can even book a Free Nurse Chat online or call Repromed on 08 8333 8111

Step 3 – First Consultation
You can choose from a large number of highly qualified Repromed Doctors trained in fertility medicine to oversee your treatment.

Step 4 – Preliminary Investigations
If required, we can carry out preliminary investigations to find the cause of you and your partner’s infertility. This may involve tests such as analysis of hormone levels for both males and females; Halosperm Test to assess sperm DNA damage; Egg Timer Test to assess ovarian reserve, genetic tests and general health assessments. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled with your doctor to review the test results, discuss a diagnosis and offer treatment options.
