Dr Tod Fullston

BSc (Hons), PhD
Genetics Coordinator

Dr Fullston has more than 25 years of Molecular Biology and Genetics Laboratory experience which he brings to his role as the supervising Scientsit of Repromed’s Reproductive Genetics Laboratory.

Gaining his PhD in human genetics through the University of Adelaide, Dr Fullston’s work primarily focussed on helping families understand the genetic basis of their X-chromosome linked intellectual disability. In many cases this knowledge restored reproductive confidence within these families.

Dr Fullston has significant experience with molecular biology, genomic, and sequencing skills; most of which were gained through clinical based collaborations with a broad range of health care professions including GPs, IVF specialists, Clinical Geneticists, Psychiatrists, Genetic Counsellors, and with Molecular Genetics Diagnostic Laboratories.

Prior to gaining this PhD, Dr Fullston worked in various laboratories, all of which had a molecular biology focus including the Neurogenetics Laboratory. After gaining his PhD, Dr Fullston applied his expertise in genetics, genomics, and molecular biology to the understanding of sperm epigenetics and paternal programming. He has published more than 42 peer reviewed research articles in respected scientific journals.

Dr Fullston joined Repromed at the end of 2016 in the dynamic Reproductive Genetics Laboratory. Helping to gain national accreditation (NATA) for this laboratory, which specialises in multiple aspects of reproductive genetic testing including Pre-implantation Genetic Testing and Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing for fetal aneuploidies, Dr Fullston is keen to expand the testing repertoire that Repromed is able to offer patients to assist them in achieving their goal of a healthy family.
