Dr Jane Woolcock

Dr Jane Woolcock is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who specialises in laparoscopic “key-hole” surgery and the complete excision of severe endometriosis. She is also a subspecialist in women’s ultrasound, and offers a full range of diagnostic ultrasound and prenatal screening. Jane is known for her careful assessment and clear explanations of difficult medical problems to her patient’s.

After graduating from Flinders University, she trained in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney and at The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Scotland. She has completed fellowships in minimally invasive surgery and subspecialty training for 3 years in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound in both Sydney and Adelaide.

Dr Woolcock is able to offer minimally invasive techniques for most gynaecological procedures and has a particular interest in:

  • Endometriosis
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Ovarian Cysts
  • Fallopian Tube disease
  • Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
  • Fibroid resection
  • Uterovaginal prolapse
  • Abnormal pap smears
  • Bladder incontinence and overactivity

Currently, Dr Woolcock is a staff specialist Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Ultrasonologist at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital where she enjoys being involved in teaching registrars and medical students. In addition, she operates regularly at both Calvary North Adelaide Hospital and Burnside War Memorial Hospital. She is a senior lecturer at the University of Adelaide, has many publications in peer-review journals and is currently Co-Chairman of the Australian Association of Obstetric and Gynaecological Ultrasound.
